Natyoshala First Live Performance

Natyoshala team performed their original creative play “Patale Papakhhoi” in Durgapuja organized by ‘Bengali in Chicago’. This short play started with four young men of Calcutta traveling by Calcutta subway system. Like every other day they were busy bothering their co-passengers. But today they were in for a surprise. They found their victim to be none but the Devil(Yama) himself. The devil declared that their death is imminent and can he release them only if they admit their worst sin. They took their terms to admit their sins only to find at the end that this entire episode was an illusion which probably taught them a lesson. The play was mainly comical with hilarious dialogs among different characters. However it was punctuated at the end with a rather serious note. The play was performed by Arnab Banerjee, Bhubanjyoti Bhattacharyya, Koushik Banerjee, Sibendu Som and Tirthajyoti Sarkar. The play was directed by Dibyendu Bhattacharyya. Although there were minor technical glitches in the beginning, overall the play was well performed.
